  • Feeling and looking great

MVPilates is:

  • A fun, social way to exercise

  • Taught by experienced physiotherapist and mum of three – qualified through Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute
  • Flexible – daytime (babies welcome) & evening classes

Why choose Pilates?

Pilates was developed specifically as an exercise regime to correct postural and muscular complaints through gradual and gentle processes - co-ordinating the mind and body. By controlling the physical exertion, Modified Pilates allows even those with chronic complaints to enjoy and benefit from the techniques.

Ante and Post-Natal Pilates

As Modified Pilates is based on a philosophy of working with the body rather than challenging the boundaries of exercise endurance, it is ideal for new mums and mums to be. The techniques taught during the course focus on the target areas used during the ante-natal stages: abdominals, back, pelvic floor and deep postural muscles. Keeping these key muscle groups in shape is ideal preparation for labour, as well as helping to speed up the post-natal recovery process. Postural training helps to teach good body practice – maintaining a stable and strong posture during pregnancy significantly reduces the occurrence of back pain both before and after delivery. There are many other advantages - including increasing circulation in the legs (reducing the occurrence of varicose veins), increasing energy and stamina, helping improve sleep patterns and maintains abdominal tone and strength both before and after labour.
